HUNTED ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, said yesterday, that his family and associates were under siege by security agents, who allegedly treated roughly his 84-year-old father, in Kurutie community, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government, resulting in the amputation of his lower limbs, two weeks ago. Tompolo, in an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, which he indicated might be his last, said the continuous harassment and intimidation was getting out of hand, and he does not deserve it. He said after the military invaded Kurutie and brutalized his father, sympathizers managed to rescue him to Warri, where the hospital admitted him. “Sadly, one of his lower limbs was amputated two weeks ago. Bonsue Fuji crooner, Adewale Ayuba, is a veteran Fuji artiste young people enjoy listening to because of his unique delivery, dance steps and lyrics. In a recent interview, the hit maker, also known as Mr. Johnson, sheds more light on why his music still appeals to the younger generation. “My music appeals to the younger generation because I try to digitalise Fuji music. "I also try to change the way my music sounds. I make use of indigenous and contemporary music instruments. It is good to follow current trends and whatever is happening around you. I have collaborated with Tiwa Savage, Jazzman Olofin, and very soon Yemi Alade. My duty is to take Fuji from our shores to the western world.”

It was not about the malnutrition in IDP camps and children dying of hunger on a daily basis. It was not about the avengers in the South or Boko Haram in the North or herdsmen in between. But it was not a critical self-introspection like the amount of money it guzzles from our depleted purse. Or the number of times it goes on recess in a year. Or its poor attendance record not to talk about its low attention span. Or the rightness of a select group of people collecting pensions and salaries from the Senate. No. The news that closed the week was about two senators who threw decorum to t
